A better homepage button tells shoppers what happens next.
“Shop now” can work, but it gives no clue about the next screen. Write the button for the destination you actually have. These five examples are fictional patterns, not real store copy or performance claims.
1 · One clear collection
Help shoppers browse a named category.
Shop cleaning refills
Open: A cleaning-refills collection with relevant products visible immediately.
Not: Your all-products page with unrelated goods above the refills. If that is the only page you have, use a broader button or create the matching collection first.
2 · One featured product
Let shoppers inspect the item before choosing.
See the rain jacket
Open: That jacket's product page, where sizes, materials, price, and delivery information can be checked.
Not: A direct-to-checkout link if the shopper has not chosen a size or seen the key details.
3 · A useful way to narrow choices
Promise a guided step only when it exists.
Browse tea by flavour
Open: A tea collection with flavour filters or clear flavour groupings.
Not: An unfiltered catalog. “Find your perfect tea” also overpromises if there is no quiz, guide, or meaningful way to narrow the choice.
4 · An unfamiliar offer
Give shoppers the explanation they need.
How refills work
Open: A concise explanation of what arrives, what is reused, and how a refill is ordered.
Not: A general About page that makes shoppers search for the answer. Use this as a secondary button if the primary goal is shopping.
5 · A real limited offer
Make the terms visible before asking for the click.
View the bundle
Open: The actual bundle page with included items and current price. If you mention a saving, its basis and terms should be clear and accurate.
Not: “Claim my discount” when the destination has no applicable discount. Do not invent urgency, scarcity, or savings to make the button louder.
The 30-second CTA check
Read the headline and button together. Do they describe the same product and action?
Tap the button on a phone. Does the destination match the button's exact promise?
Can a first-time shopper see the next decision without hunting through menus?
Check price, availability, delivery, and offer language against the live page before publishing.
Use this small worksheet for your main homepage CTA. Nothing here is submitted or saved by this page. Open the destination on a phone while you fill it in.
If the destination is correct but the wording is vague, name the actual next step. If the wording is specific but the destination cannot deliver it, change the page or choose a truthful button. Check live price, availability, and shipping terms separately.
Want paste-ready wording too? Request one diagnosis plus a headline, supporting line, and CTA within 24 hours. Pay $29 after delivery only if useful; otherwise, owe nothing.
This opens a draft in your email app for you to review and send; it does not send automatically. If no email app opens, email ppjdmpk@gmail.com with “One free homepage finding” in the subject and your homepage URL, desired action, and CTA notes.
Already use GitHub? You can also request the one free finding in a public issue. Copy only notes you are comfortable making public; share no credentials or customer data. This is free-only, not a $29 order, and the AI-assisted reply will be public.
Get a second set of eyes on your real homepage.
Draft a few directions with the free browser-local headline and CTA generator. For a site-specific, AI-assisted review, send your public homepage URL and the one action you want visitors to take. I will deliver one prioritized diagnosis plus a paste-ready headline, supporting line, and CTA within 24 hours. If it is useful, pay $29 after delivery; if not, you owe nothing. This is not a human-only copywriting service; check delivered copy for accuracy before publishing.
